Explore Lots of Adult and Childrens Halloween Costume Ideas that are Family Friendly!

It's not just kids who love to dress up.. big kids love it too! Dress up in Halloween costume allows us to be whoever we want for the day and can give us a new sense of confidence. Costume can be used to impersonate our heroes, make people laugh, or to give people a fright! It is also used to draw attention for promotions. It has been around for centuries and with so many options, it might be difficult to choose.

It all depends on what you want the costume for. If it is for a promotion, or for a particular occasion such as Halloween or Christmas, then you probably will have a theme in mind and the search is narrowed. However, if you have just received an invite to a fancy dress party, then the world is your oyster when it comes to fancy dress. But don't panic, we will help you figure out exactly what you're looking for so you're ready to go.

First, consider if there is anyone you particularly admire and would like to impersonate. Perhaps a favourite pop singer, rock star or actor? Maybe you are a film buff and have a favourite TV or movie character? Or maybe you're more of a bookworm and have a literary hero? If they are popular, there is probably a costume out there. Even if you can't find out, you can get creative and recreate their look using a combination of a costume and accessories or fancy wigs.

Some people don't like celebrities or characters, and that's ok. Maybe you are a fan of a particular era or decade. Some people adore the 1920's look, and that is really popular in fancy dress. Choose from flapper dresses with pixie cut wigs, pearls and cigarette holders or mob boss suits and hats. Perhaps you prefer the 1950's with it's poodle skirts and beehive wigs, and teddy boy jackets. Or relive your youth whether it was in the 60's, 70's, 80's or 90's. Dressing up to a theme like this is great fun, and it really narrows down your search. Be brave and choose big hair and bright colours to suit the decade so that others won't be in doubt as to what you're impersonating.

If these ideas don't appeal to you, an easy and quick option for fancy dress is to go as an animal. There are lots of animal costumes, including simple onesies which make your job very easy. There is lots of choice so it's unlikely you'll meet another dog, chicken or cow at your party. A onesie can be used again, to sleep in! so is a great cost-effective option too. Plus, it's comfortable.
Whatever you decide to go with, be creative and enjoy yourself!
